Emma and Ava are half of a year old...times is just flying!  They had their 6 month check up this month and the Dr. said they are doing so well :).  A 2 lb. difference still remains between the girls, but they are both growing on their own curves. Emma is in the 75th percentile for height and weight and Ava is in the 25th, she is still a little peanut.  She did refer Emma to Children's Hospital for a referral because Emma does not turn her neck all the way on her left side.  We have since then taken her to the physical therapy department at Children's and they diagnosed her with Torticollis, which is a tightness in the neck muscles.  We were given exercises to do with her at home 10 times a day for 10 seconds each and we were supposed to get PT weekly.  However, I took her last week for the first time and the PT said we were doing so well with the exercises at home, that we could continue to do the exercises at home and then come back in three weeks.  This was great news, way to go Emma!!!

The girls are working on sitting up on their own and rolling over.  They are still sleeping very well with about 3 naps a day.  They have started to get up earlier and earlier, but hopefully that will just be a phase :). We are just enjoying every minute of these precious little girls!!

I have included some bath pictures below, which they both love.  I have also included some pictures that my cousin Stephanie took of the girls while we were in the Bahamas.  It was impromptu, thus the pajamas they are wearing :).

5 months

I am a few days into the twins being 6 months, however I am going to talk about them as if they are 5 months....The girls are doing well with not lying on the back of their heads, other than sleeping. They love their exersaucer and bumbo. One of their favorite activities is to watch Baby Einstein in their exersaucer (they take after their older sister Melis...she loved her Einstein). They are not real big fans of tummy time. However, I can typically get them on their tummy's a couple of times a day for about 10 minutes each time. They really are happy babies, except when they are hungry or tired. The babbling has increased with both girls this month; I just love it!!! Both of them are so smiley and it just warms my heart. You can talk to them about anything and they will just smile right back at you. Although, this month they have become a little funny around strangers. If someone talks to them that they do not know, they will put their bottom lip out and start crying; hopefully this will not last too long.

The girls experienced their first nasty cold. Emma started with a fever that eventually turned into a cold. Her fever ran for a couple of days and we took her into the Dr. to have her checked.  She became congested very quickly.  They were not concerned with the cold because her lungs were clear. However, she had an ear infection. Two days later, we had Ava at the Dr. for the same symptoms. She also had an ear infection. Luckily, after two days on the antibiotic, they were feeling much better. They have both had two ear infections so far; I sure hope that is the end of those!

We introduced fruits and vegetables to them this month. We started with the veggies and Emma liked the food better than Ava. Although, they are now eating both the fruits and veggies very well. At this point they are getting oatmeal with bananas for breakfast and bedtime (courtesy of Grandma Panaro, since Ava did not like the rice cereal), a veggie for lunch and fruit for dinner.

They had their first sleepover this month.  We traveled to the Atlantis in the Bahamas with the three older kids and left the twins with Grandma/Grandpa Johnson and Grandma/Grandpa Panaro.  Marc's work sends their employees on a trip every January and we decided to bring the kids with us, since the Atlantis is a kid friendly place.  They did very well at their grandparent's house.  We all  missed them soooo much!!!

I think this is all to report that has been going on in month 5, but pictures are below........
